MY SHAGGY COMFORT

She sits by herself, all alone

But she’s there for me when I’m sullen and low

I talk endlessly, she listens- patiently

She knows when I’m happy, she knows when I’m sad

And gives me the feel of a caring hand.

When I cry, when I hurt,

She wipes my tears as I pour out my heart.

Holding me close and hugging me tight,

In her own silent way she tells me it’s going to be alright.

When I’m happy she rejoices with me,

I can feel the warmth in her closeness to me

Through tears and joys we make our way

Me and my companion never will sway

Lying there faded, my blanket of old

Even without a life, I can feel that heart of gold.

There are material things like your blanket or my pillow which can provide comfort no one else can… The best part is they let us be alone as well! Very beautifully written poetry…
