The mellow evening sky melts into a diamond studded blue,
Setting the stage for the world of dreams.
Dreams of old, and dreams brand new
Joyful, blue and adventures too.
The darkest thoughts, the monsters under your bed,
The heavy rain cloud, you so dread.
In the world of technicolour
You can scale mountains, or dive into oceans
You can fly with the clouds
Or glide next to stars.
In the world of dreams
You can explore the realm of your mind
Dipping into the deepest spaces
The yin and yang, the shadows and light
Where the puzzles of life are put together.
So, when the day melts into the night
And the sandman comes with magical sand of dreams, sprinkling it onto your heavy eyes
You can delve into the unexplored, knowing only you have the power
To feed the monster, or feed the light.

“To feed the monster, or feed the light” – what a wonderful way to end the poem. How true it is that you can feed your imagination and make it take the path you want to traverse on!
